A reason to be thankful

Its the Sunday before thanksgiving and I cant think of a better way to start the week than preparing to give back to those that need it. What you see above is not just trash bags full of clothes, rather they are coats that have been donated to Girls2Goddesses and Rmllmzk for the 2nd annual coat drive.

I feel like this year we received so many quality donations and have had more people interested in what we are doing to help those in need. I missed the wash party last year, but one thing that I do know is, this year was outstanding. Seeing the many washers that we had full of coats that were given to us to help those that may not be able to get the coats they need gave me some kind of feeling. These wonderful ladies from Girls2Goddessess and that handsome man of mine made tonight great. We had snacks, laughs, people stopping by to drop off last minute donations and just an overall great energy.

We haven't even begun to hand out the coats yet and I just feel so... grateful, privileged, happy, or better yet humbled that I am able to do so  and am able to do this with such an outstanding group of people.

If you are in need of a gently used winter coat or know someone who is, please go like the Girls2Goddessess and Rmllw2llz facebook page for updates. We will have a set date and location soon.

To the ladies and gents in the picture, I love yall. Without being the wife of a musician I probably wouldnt have crossed paths with you all. I am grateful to call you my siStars and husband.

Someone said the other day: "Why haven't you been blogging anymore? 2llz has so much stuff that has been going on and you haven't wrote about it." The truthful answer is that I sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day 5 days a week, coming home to sit in front of another one is not at the top of my list.  Plus yall know how I get. lol Don't judge me.

Truth be told, 2llz has had a lot going on since the last time I wrote. Since Forecastle happened, he has played quite a few shows like Resurfaced, released a new ep called Summers in Spain and had a release party for that, co-hosted a coat drive with this FLYY ASS chick (me),  and is still hosting the IandEye radio show with DJ DS on Artxfm.com, which is soon to be WXOX 97.1 on the local dial here in Louisville. And here as of recent, he has been touring this region on the Mic'd Up Tour with the homie WIP.
The tour kicked off here in Louisville then went to Chicago and Cincinnati, I do believe he will be back here in the city then off to Indianapolis for a little razzle dazzle here within the next couple of weeks.  I was fortunate enough to go to the Chicago show with him and even though I was put to work (surprise surprise) I really enjoyed myself. This was actually my first time stepping foot in Chicago, instead of the usual drive through to get back to Wisconsin. When we were driving up Lake Shore Drive, it was dark and its nothing but high rises so it was just lit up and such a sight to see. (Im over here sounding like Ive never seen city lights before lol) But it really was pretty, I wish it wouldve been warmer so we could have stopped for a second, but being that we were literally on the lake (hence the name Lake Shore Drive) there was no exiting the car until necessary. Im not trying to get blown away in the city of wind. So we get to the venue and its a dope little spot, the crowd was real eclectic, live art happening, good djs spinning and the people were nice. One of our long time friends actually met us there since he lives about an hour outside of Chicago, which was nice since we havent seen him for a while. We were introduced to the music scene of Chicago and this wife was impressed.

Shout out to Funk Trunk Records for the pictures and hosting us. Its always great to go somewhere new and meet great people. Especially a couple that seems to work just as hard and together as us. Shout out to Quinn and Brittany!
I wasnt able to make it to the Cincinnati show,I got my days mixed up thinking it was on a Saturday and not a Friday night and my sitter wasnt available on such short notice. But none the less, Sr still had a good time and was welcomed and well received from what I understand. This stop of course included 2llz and WIP, but they also took Mr. Go0dbar with them as well. The shots that were taken were amazing, shout out to the photographer (not sure who it is and 2llz isnt home for me to ask. lol) And of course you can see videos of the sets and more pictures on the Rmllw2llz fan page..

Well thats all I got for right now, go check the fan page, if you haven't heard Summers in Spain yet, well you know where to click to hear that.

Peace yall!

They aren't my husbands, but Im damn proud!

"Monumental" "Conquered" "Wavy"  "Accomplished" "UNITY"

What is all of this describing? The artist experience at Forecastle two weeks ago. Louisville's hip-hop scene got put on in one of the most major ways and from what everyone had to say about it, it was one of the best sets out of the whole weekend.

Dr. Dundiff, one of the dopest artist Louisville has, put together a set that resembled a Wu-Tang concert on one of the smallest stages that Forecastle had to offer, but based on the crowd, you could tell there was nothing but love. Dr. Dundiff put an hour long set featuring The Smoke Shop Kids, RMLLW2LLZ, Touch AC, Skyscraper Stereo, 1200, Skull Avalanche, Shadowpact, Kogan Dumb, Bonez, Jalin Roze, and Jack Harlow. So you can imagine with all of the artist that I just named, that it was going to be live right? Well it was. It was so live that they were part of the top 10 acts out of the whole freaking weekend according to Consequence of Sound. Never Nervous started his entry off about the guys with a "HOLY SHIT" so maybe that can give you an idea of what it was like. lol

I got to go to the friends and family rehearsal for the guys and what I saw was simply amazing. The rehearsal took place in what seemed like the depths of hell since it was soooo hot, which was a good thing since the same heat was what the fellas had at show time. This was the first time Ive seen a few people like Jack Harlow and Jalin Roze perform and based off what I saw with the live band, I can totally understand why they received such high praise.

Now me as the wife of a musician, of course I will always be biased and brag on my 2llz, but this event made be excited for everyone. Forecastle is such a big music festival, to have an arsenal of artist representing the Ville the way they did was ginormous. Mr. Goodbar from Skyscraper Stereo described his experience using the word Unity. I couldnt have agreed more. This city is so big and so full of talented people, it seems that here lately it has had a us vs them mentality when really it doesnt take all of that. For Dr. Dundiff to bring 10+ acts together on one stage to show out for thousands of people was really great. Mad props to Dundiff for campaigning as hard as he did to get his spot on the Ocean Stage and hats off to all the guys that got up there, had a blast and did their thing. This is what it is all about.

Dr Dundiff and Friends: Congrats to each and everyone of you, this wife of a musician is proud of yall and cant wait to see whats next. Blessings to you all.

Dont sleep on em

Dont get it twisted, just because I havent been writing, that doesnt mean that 2LLZ aint been out working hard. Just as a little glimpse of what he's been doing since November:
He has helped run a coat drive with the lovely ladies at Girls 2 Goddesses

He has had me and my wonderful friend at a show where there was absolutely NO HEAT what so ever, freezing our behinds off.
Rolling up and down the highway recording with none other that Royce The Poet on the boards in a top of the line studio
All while co-hosting on The Tia Maria Show  on ArtxFm.com.
Didn't I say he was busy? Shoot I haven't even made it to the release party..  Oh you aint know? Yeah he released another album. Concerto No. 9 Movement 1 is available now for purchase at RMLLMZK now.

So back to the working hard aspect... do yall get the point yet? Rest is for the weary, and sleep is the cousin of death. Staying in constant motion is what he does and hes been doing a damn good job of it too.
On top of doing regular shows, hes been in the Pegasus parade we had here for derby with the ArtxFM crew, he and Girls 2 Goddesses have hosted a food drive, he has helped with the carwash for the Juneteenth Festival here in Louisville, not to mention performing at Juneteenth in Wisconsin this past weekend (Im editing those pictures now, new post will be made regarding that)

Did you know that 2llz and DJ Divine Struggle now have their own radio show on ArtxFm? Yeah boii! *Pops voice* Yeah they are I and Eye Radio. Currently, the facebook page is under construction, but you can definitely follow them on twitter. I will keep you updated on when the facebook page will be up and running. When are they on you ask? Every Tuesday night from 10p to midnight. How can I listen to the show? Great question. You can do one of two things, either log on to ArtxFm.com or download the app. Either way, you are in for a treat. One hour of funk, the second hour hip-hop, like real hip-hop. If youre my facebook friend, then be warned, I just might post on your page that night a friendly reminder. ;)

Yall keep your ears to the streets and your eyes wide open, you never know where you will see 2LLZ next and what he will be doing. Like what you see? Have something to say? Let us know! You can tweet me @mrs2lls or tweet the man himself  @rmllw2llz
