They aren't my husbands, but Im damn proud!

"Monumental" "Conquered" "Wavy"  "Accomplished" "UNITY"

What is all of this describing? The artist experience at Forecastle two weeks ago. Louisville's hip-hop scene got put on in one of the most major ways and from what everyone had to say about it, it was one of the best sets out of the whole weekend.

Dr. Dundiff, one of the dopest artist Louisville has, put together a set that resembled a Wu-Tang concert on one of the smallest stages that Forecastle had to offer, but based on the crowd, you could tell there was nothing but love. Dr. Dundiff put an hour long set featuring The Smoke Shop Kids, RMLLW2LLZ, Touch AC, Skyscraper Stereo, 1200, Skull Avalanche, Shadowpact, Kogan Dumb, Bonez, Jalin Roze, and Jack Harlow. So you can imagine with all of the artist that I just named, that it was going to be live right? Well it was. It was so live that they were part of the top 10 acts out of the whole freaking weekend according to Consequence of Sound. Never Nervous started his entry off about the guys with a "HOLY SHIT" so maybe that can give you an idea of what it was like. lol

I got to go to the friends and family rehearsal for the guys and what I saw was simply amazing. The rehearsal took place in what seemed like the depths of hell since it was soooo hot, which was a good thing since the same heat was what the fellas had at show time. This was the first time Ive seen a few people like Jack Harlow and Jalin Roze perform and based off what I saw with the live band, I can totally understand why they received such high praise.

Now me as the wife of a musician, of course I will always be biased and brag on my 2llz, but this event made be excited for everyone. Forecastle is such a big music festival, to have an arsenal of artist representing the Ville the way they did was ginormous. Mr. Goodbar from Skyscraper Stereo described his experience using the word Unity. I couldnt have agreed more. This city is so big and so full of talented people, it seems that here lately it has had a us vs them mentality when really it doesnt take all of that. For Dr. Dundiff to bring 10+ acts together on one stage to show out for thousands of people was really great. Mad props to Dundiff for campaigning as hard as he did to get his spot on the Ocean Stage and hats off to all the guys that got up there, had a blast and did their thing. This is what it is all about.
