No sooner than I saved that post to write on later, the hotline started blinging. lol Conversations started about albums, meetings to start writing, venue talk and all the other things that come with being a musician. So here I am, ear hustling on phone conversations taking mental notes so I will be able to piece together dates I may or may not need to schedule stuff on.. I have no idea what album, song or project we are working on, but what I do know is theres a buzz happening, so it begins. ...againTaehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01510777944418489859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339602908384027630.post-86789571000725060102018-01-29T11:10:00.001-08:002018-01-29T11:10:45.416-08:00Week 1 in SpaceAs mentioned before, I have joined The Space Campaign along with a few other people to start doing music reviews of indie artist submissions. All songs have the opportunity to get 10 rockets and the reviews are about the length of a tweet. You will find the link to songs and the artist twitter page in the review, along with the handles of those who took time to listen and share their thoughts. Please feel free to follow any and everyone mentioned on the blog and leave a comment about what you thought of the songs. We would love you hear your thoughts!!

Week one submissions came from Church Friends, Dom Belafonte and Yung Beezy

The first submission we reviewed was In my mind by Church Friends
Overall score 7 out of 10 rockets
With this being the first submission/review, the format has changed from sharing small pieces of thoughts about the songs to a tweet size review of the song by each individual. Thoughts about In my mind include: "Lead has a good southern rock voice." "Nice dirty guitar intro/" "Vocals are too clean and the mix is inconsistent." and "the music is real good." Although there inst much else to add, you can read the entire thread of this review here:
@vinnie_the_fox said: "The song composition is put together very well. The comparison of day turning into night and the blending of an Arnold Palmer is very creative and original. AT first listen i assumed it would be a song about hittin the block, but i was completely wrong! This song represents anyone with a hustlers mentality! Not only is there a positive overtone for working hard but there is also no curse words, I respect the hell outta that." 7/10 rockets.

@cbowmanmusic said: "I dig the vocal production on this one, but the composition is a little off. The lack of kick against the bass synth in the verse leaves a hole in the track for me. From a mix perspective, seems its lacks depth. Good flow, good message." 6/10 rockets

@mrs2lls said: "I thought his voice favored Kendrick Lamar. I thought the comparison of the night into day and Arnold Palmer was creative. The beat had me bopping, id bop this in teh car during the summer time with the windows down." 7/10

@shrugs2u said: "I really like the uniqueness of the lyrics. And i could understand everything he was saying (which is what i sometimes have a problem with rappers.) But he has to be careful not to sound like a Kendrick clone/" 7/10

@airjordanjetson said: "Def a good vibe to it. Love the way he flipped that chorus, hard to make sumn like that not corny. Vocals sounded like a loud whisper in some places, thats my only gripe fr." 7/10
Submission #3 is Wake and Bake by Yung Beezy
@mrs2lls thoughts: "The beat is definitely one for the smokers. The vocals of the first verse arent as crisp as the rest of the song. I can appreciate the screw at the end/" 6/10

@shrugs2u thoughts: "Pros: Smooth. I got lost in my thoughts while still bopping to the beat, so its definitely a song for a smoke session. It lets you drift away. Cons: The second background voice needs to cut out and the ending shortened a tiny bit." 7/10

@cbowmanmusic thoughts: "The beat is tight, but the instrumental is ducking in the first verse. I liked both verses, didn't care for the sampled vocals before the fade out. Its a song to smoke to, and I like the vibe. Let the beat breathe more, interesting reverb on the doubled vocals in the beginning." 6/10

@vinnie_the_fox thoughts: "It lacks originality. I feel like you have to put your own spin on a weed song so that it stands out. The vocals on the first verse are low. I also feel its hard to understand what he is saying from bar to bar. Its decent "background music." 5/10
I have joined forces with The Space Campaign in doing music reviews for indie artist. I am one of 13 who are listening to songs submitted via twitter and giving a tweet size review. The goal is to have a weekly recap of the songs and some of the reviews from the crew posted here, so make sure you're checking back for those updates and of course any and all things Rmllw2llz related! Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01510777944418489859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339602908384027630.post-74398639752804647372017-09-19T11:30:00.001-07:002017-09-19T11:32:24.260-07:00Keeping SecretsHave you ever found out some exciting news and wanted to share it with the world but couldn't? Yeah, that's what its like when you are the wife of a musician who is doing great things. Whenever you land a big show and are notified, 9 times out of 10 the announcement from the venue/promoter hasn't been made yet, so you have to bite your tongue and keep this exciting news to yourself until that announcement has been made. Its like finding out the gender of your child and you have to wait for the reveal party. ITS SO HARD.

The email came through saying "Good news!! Finally got the green light, We can 100% add you to the bill for the Big Boi show next Saturday." This came through on a Friday, the announcement wasn't made until Monday. It was crazy, because when the Mercury Ballroom made the announcement, it was like finding out all over again. Rmllw2llz is the opener for Big Boi on his Daddy Fat Saxx tour on his Louisville stop. How crazy is that.

As the wife, I go into brag mode, which I shouldn't do, but I cant help it. I've been with this man since the beginning of his career here in Louisville and to see him go from Solidarity (which is now closed) to opening up for names like Rakim, David Banner, Raekwon and now Big Boi. Yeah Im going to give my man some shine. Hell he deserves it. He works a full time job, part time job, is a father, husband, radio personality, and emcee. Tell me that he isnt out here working and I have some swamp land in Nebraska to sell you.

Needless to say, if you're reading this and in the city of Louisville or surrounding area, come out and support someone who is putting on for the city and see Sir Lucius Left Foot while you're at it.
Im spoiled, I grew up in an era of good music and since being with 2llz Ive been introduced to so much more. This new generation of artist confuzzle me and hurt my ears, so I dont even attempt to try and listen to any of it. Just this morning I was checking the new releases because its Friday and there is usually some good music dropped on Friday. Unfortunately there hasn't been anything worthwhile since Jay-Z dropped 4:44. Which by the way was a dope response to Beyonces Lemonade. But like I was saying, I was checking for new music this morning and it was a new album from someone called Moneybagg Yo. Um... where did this name come from? Did no one in your camp say waymin? I guess. That wasnt the point of this post, but I had to put my concern out there.

Today I decided to listen to someone that Ive never heard of and see what their new release was about. Todays first artist was Salva and the new album Clips

To my pleasure this actually turned out to be an instrumental album. It always makes me happy to find one of these because sometimes you just need sound without words. When I heard the person speak on the first track talking about needing more ice, my first thought was here we go.. Im in trap land, but as the album went on and I heard no lyrics, I was happy. lol The beginning of Stranger Things Have Happened sounds like the theme of the Xfiles, which I guess makes sense based off the title (that I didnt read until now.) Overall it was a decent album 7/10, something Ill add to a roadtrip playlist.
The second album I listened to was Manna by Fashawn. Apparently he was part of XXL freshman class in 2010. I havent paid attention to the freshman class list in quite sometime since it endorses crap music (imo) so when I saw he was on a list, I was a bit hesitant to listen to this. Favorite song hands down on the first listen through was Proud. The intro alone to it gave me life, children being quizzed on great melanated people of our past. The self titled song reminds me of the aggression, emotion and power 2llz displays in Medal Stand on that Summers In Spain album. Shout out to new music Friday, today has been a jackpot of unexpected good music. Manna gets a 8/10 from Mrs2llz.
One of my biggest pet peeves is to have someone say 2llz name incorrectly. Nothing grinds my gears more than hearing someone say Romell with 2 double lls. WHAT?!? Or as of recent, Romell with 2 zs. Uh no. This man who has been going by the name Rmllw2llz for a couple of years now. If your not sure how to say the name, then you should ask someone. Just like I tell our boys, ask if you're not sure. Yeah I get that Rmllw2llz is something that will make you scratch your head, hell there have been people who have done reviews on albums even mention that they didn't know what that spelled and had to lay it out for the readers. To me, and this is just my opinion, because I am that crazy wife. To me its a level of disrespect to mispronounce an artist name, especially if you have been introduced or have a paper with their name on it in front of you. Recently when 2llz opened up for Raekwon (yes Raekwon The Chef) the dj of the night said his name wrong a couple of times. I screamed the correction out once, and then ended up stomping my behind across the venue to ask security to let me at him. lol Fortunately for him, our wonderful DJ Divine Struggle met me at the door and took my concerns to him in a more calm manner. I wasn't trying to cause a scene, but bruh what you wont do is mispronounce the name like that, multiple times. I am that crazy wife that will correct you, and it may or may not come out nicely, just depends on if I've been given drink tickets. So to anyone reading this, Rmllw2llz is pronounced Romell With 2 LLs, lets make sure we get it right the first time so you dont have to meet Josie2lls mmkay?Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01510777944418489859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339602908384027630.post-36692337857976271792017-02-20T11:26:00.002-08:002017-02-20T11:50:07.699-08:00Making a come backIt is I, the long lost wife of the one and only Rmllw2llz. I'm slowly making a come back on the scene now that sweet baby Rza has made her arrival. My last post was around the time we found out we were adding to our tribe of #Team2llz and now she is here. And yes, you read that right, her name is Rza, just like Bobby Digital from the Wu. How did she get her name? How else, 2llz. Even though the second child was supposed to be named by her mother, somehow he managed to pull this one off. We wanted her to have a name that meant something, something that would give her strength, and something that wasn't overly saturated. It started off as a joke to name her Rza because 2llz had a boss that loves any and all things Wu-Tang, hell one of his kids is a member of the Wu. Because we wanted her to have a name with meaning and I am obviously not a devout follower of the clan, I had to look up the meaning of our daughters name.
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">RZA:
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">I'm sure follower of the Wu know that's what it stands for but where does this come from and what the hell does it mean? Because Rza is a very insightful man and grew up being taught under the Nations of God and Earth aka the Five Percent Nation, you would have to look up the meaning of the letters in the Supreme Alphabet.
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Ruler: To rule is the nature of the Black man, for the reason being that to rule means to be a ruler. The Black man was not made to be ruled because the Black man’s knowledge must build in order to make all things known. Rule is to rule something wisely the way the king does because he gives it to the understanding. Rules are given to those who are living a righteous way of life and those rules are given by the king who is Allah god is the only ruler there is, by acknowledging his building powers and making it born to all the planets of the universe, so that they can go according to it and bear witness to who the true ruler is.
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Zig-Zag-Zig describes the path “from Knowledge, to Wisdom, to Understanding” and is a reminder that this path is not straightforward, but cuts back and forth, and can pull the seeker’s life with it. Zig-Zag-Zig is symbolic of change and personal growth. However, as the final letter of the alphabet, it also connotes finality-someone who has matured greatly between beginning their study of the 120 and mastering it may be said to have “zigged, zagged, and zigged back” to Understanding of the Lessons.

Ruler - Zig Zag Zig -

Allah: <span style="background-color: white; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: 16px; line-height: 22px;">The Arabic word which, in English, translates to “God.”
Allah is described by 5 Percenter teachings as the “Asiatic Black man”-“Asia” is the body, “attic” is the mind, and “man” is the higher intelligence. Allah (A.L.L.A.H.) is also a acronym for “Arm, leg, leg, arm, head”-or a rough description of the components of the human body.

And so it was, Rza is now not only a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, but she is also a member of #Team2llz as well. Now that she is here, you will see more of both 2llz and the wife of since we are making a come back.

Peace and blessings.

We have all been handed lemons at some point in our lives, whether its in a relationship, career, family etc. We have all had some lemons staring at us. I commend Beyonce for sharing her lemonade with us. Its hard being so transparent with millions of people like that. A friend of mine said that she felt like was gassing women up to be like f a cheating man just to stay with one. I personally dont think that was what she was doing. I think it was more of a showing all the shit you go through when dealing with that situation in a relationship that is supposed to be unbreakable.. Let me be the first to tell you, people can change. And no one is perfect, so just to stay with a cheating man/woman sometimes happens and works out for the best. The things that we live through is what makes us who we are. I pray for growth and happiness for the Carters, because they are just like the Weavers, the Smiths, the Jones and all other unions out here- ever growing, working to make it last, and learning along the way. Things happen and we all make mistakes, whether its infidelity, addictions, or whatever we are human and we will always face some type of challenge. Ive also seen posts about how Bey is going to have all the women hating their men after this. If you really watched the visual album or listened to the album, you will see that there is redemption and hope. Shes expressing all of the stages we go through in relationships, the emotions that add the flavor to the lemonade that we have to make. Intuition, denial, anger, apathy, accountability, reformation, forgiveness, emptiness, redemption/hope. Although Im not viewing this album through eyes similar to Bey, I definitely can relate to some of the album and emotions that she is going through.
"I break chains all by myself, I wont let my freedom rot in hell." - This is me now, not in the relationship sense, but Im breaking out of the chains of shit that Ive always believed in because I was supposed to and not question. Nah, that shit is being questioned and as I do so, Im seeing truth and becoming free. That shit wont be in vain, TRUST.

"True love brings salvation back into me" -It took some situations in life to make me realize this is where Im supposed to be and the love i have is true in both relationship and self love.

"My torturer became my remedy"-We often put ourselves through mental anguish and tend to torture ourselves with the shoulda, woulda, couldas but then as we grow we start loving self more, and taking care of self more. I know I've had issues that I may have been a bit excessive about, stressing myself for no reason only to then end up finding a resolution and taking care of whatever it was. I was my own torturer and became my own remedy.

Ive enjoyed the album, and if the situations do apply to her, I ask the ancestors to continue to help her heal in way that she can grow and continue to love him.
It was set up like the march madness UofL is currently sitting out of this year.

I know Ive said it before, but the places 2LLz music takes us is unbelievable sometimes and it really makes you grateful for the opportunities that you are given. Like really, i never pictured a hip hop show at a museum opening, yet there we were.

So anyway, the Grand room was the spot to be to watch artist go song for song and depend on the crowd for their next round, and let me tell you, the crowd was thick for a quite some time.

All the artist got up there and did what they came to do, perform for another crowd of people needing good music in their life. Although I didn't

get pictures of everyone, I assure you everyone up there gave it their all and rocked the crowd.

So the final two for the championship came down to the Splash brother vs Mr Goodbar, and it
was funny because all of the better halves of the artist were in the back rootin on their boos and anxiously waiting to scream the loudest to help their man win. I know I love to see my man perform and do what he is best at so im sure the other ladies feel the same. We gotta support our menfolks at all times. Salute to all the wifes, fiances and girl friends of all the artists, its not an easy job but we got this on lock!
You know, as a wife of a musician, we get to see a lot of the frustration, aggravation and issues that the artist go through before, during and after shows. Things like technical difficulties, terrible sound quality, mispronounced names, missing music etc.The one thing Ive learned from doing what i do best (watching) is the ability to be flexible and to always remember that this is a business. I think that had some of the artist come with a variety of show music with them and were able to switch up their sets, they may have done better. You have to scope out your crowd and feel the vibe, pay attention to what is moving them and adjust accordingly. Music is the universal language, so if you are paying attention to what the crowd is saying, you should be able to speak to them in a way that they will remember what you are saying. By doing that you are building that relationship that will have them come seek you out after your set or looking you up on social media to see where they can find more of your music aka building your brand and your business. I know that most if not all the artist out here, are on this scene because they love to create and express themselves musically, which is great, but making money off of doing what you love is even better. This is why it is always a good idea to be aware of your surroundings, your actions and your words. Bad mouthing another artist, venue, or camp can impact you in ways you may regret. Hell say the wrong thing around the wrong person and that may have potentially cost you a show at another venue because not everything needs to be said at that exact moment, same for your actions. Even when the moment gets rough, the crowd isnt paying 100% attention to you, or there is a super delay, you cant let that frustration be seen, felt or known. You gotta keep the vibes high and enjoy the moment. Whats the saying? Carpe diem?

But seriously though congrats and blessings to all the artist that showed up and showed out last night, this was something that the Louisville scene needed and it was great. Congrats to the Splash Brothers on the Win last night, according to some, it was an upset against triple OG Mr. Goodbar, but all the fellas held their own last night and it really could've went any way.

This past Valentines Day was a bit unorthodox for this wife but in a good way. Sunday, I was at the ArtxFm studios celebrating their launch onto the FM dial here in Louisville. How did I get to participate in such an event? Well, not only am I the Wife of a Musician, but I am also the Wife of a Radio personality. 2llz and Dj DS are the hosts of I and Eye Radio, Tuesday nights on ArtxFm- WXOX Louisville 97.1

I can remember when 2llz told me he was invited to be a guest on The Tia Maria Show one day. Ever since that one interview, the rest was history!

It was really nice to see the amount of support that WXOX recieved that day. When we got there, the room was standing room only and it was difficult to walk, talk or hear in there. As time went on and people started clearing out, the mingling became a little bit easier. I got to meet Ms. Sharon who is the general manager of the station along with some of the other personalities. Unfortunately, I do not remember any names or the shows they have on the station as there was plenty of spirits and love being shared that day and I was partaking. lol

So what kind of programming does WXOX have you ask? Well it ranges from punk to classical, hip hop to country. You can check out the schedule here. The best thing about this station is that is 100% local and a great platform for any artist to use. I and Eye Radio has an Undiscovered hour that they play all local and undiscovered artist. The goal is to get that hour to increase, so if you do hip hop -not trap hop, submit your fully edited song to Iandeyeradio@gmail.com for review. If you're not in the Louisville area, or wont be in your car during the show, make sure you download the app from your play store or you can get it from here. Either way, make sure you are enjoying this new station here in Louisville, youll learn something new, I guarantee it.

Its the Sunday before thanksgiving and I cant think of a better way to start the week than preparing to give back to those that need it. What you see above is not just trash bags full of clothes, rather they are coats that have been donated to Girls2Goddesses and Rmllmzk for the 2nd annual coat drive.
I feel like this year we received so many quality donations and have had more people interested in what we are doing to help those in need. I missed the wash party last year, but one thing that I do know is, this year was outstanding. Seeing the many washers that we had full of coats that were given to us to help those that may not be able to get the coats they need gave me some kind of feeling. These wonderful ladies from Girls2Goddessess and that handsome man of mine made tonight great. We had snacks, laughs, people stopping by to drop off last minute donations and just an overall great energy.
The truthful answer is that I sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day 5 days a week, coming home to sit in front of another one is not at the top of my list. Plus yall know how I get. lol Don't judge me.

Truth be told, 2llz has had a lot going on since the last time I wrote. Since Forecastle happened, he has played quite a few shows like Resurfaced, released a new ep called Summers in Spain and had a release party for that, co-hosted a coat drive with this FLYY ASS chick (me), and is still hosting the IandEye radio show with DJ DS on Artxfm.com, which is soon to be WXOX 97.1 on the local dial here in Louisville. And here as of recent, he has been touring this region on the Mic'd Up Tour with the homie WIP.

The tour kicked off here in Louisville then went to Chicago and Cincinnati, I do believe he will be back here in the city then off to Indianapolis for a little razzle dazzle here within the next couple of weeks. I was fortunate enough to go to the Chicago show with him and even though I was put to work (surprise surprise) I really enjoyed myself. This was actually my first time stepping foot in Chicago, instead of the usual drive through to get back to Wisconsin. When we were driving up Lake Shore Drive, it was dark and its nothing but high rises so it was just lit up and such a sight to see. (Im over here sounding like Ive never seen city lights before lol) But it really was pretty, I wish it wouldve been warmer so we could have stopped for a second, but being that we were literally on the lake (hence the name Lake Shore Drive) there was no exiting the car until necessary. Im not trying to get blown away in the city of wind. So we get to the venue and its a dope little spot, the crowd was real eclectic, live art happening, good djs spinning and the people were nice. One of our long time friends actually met us there since he lives about an hour outside of Chicago, which was nice since we havent seen him for a while. We were introduced to the music scene of Chicago and this wife was impressed.

I wasnt able to make it to the Cincinnati show,I got my days mixed up thinking it was on a Saturday and not a Friday night and my sitter wasnt available on such short notice. But none the less, Sr still had a good time and was welcomed and well received from what I understand. This stop of course included 2llz and WIP, but they also took Mr. Go0dbar with them as well. The shots that were taken were amazing, shout out to the photographer (not sure who it is and 2llz isnt home for me to ask. lol) And of course you can see videos of the sets and more pictures on the Rmllw2llz fan page..

What is all of this describing? The artist experience at Forecastle two weeks ago. Louisville's hip-hop scene got put on in one of the most major ways and from what everyone had to say about it, it was one of the best sets out of the whole weekend.

Dr. Dundiff, one of the dopest artist Louisville has, put together a set that resembled a Wu-Tang concert on one of the smallest stages that Forecastle had to offer, but based on the crowd, you could tell there was nothing but love. Dr. Dundiff put an hour long set featuring The Smoke Shop Kids, RMLLW2LLZ, Touch AC, Skyscraper Stereo, 1200, Skull Avalanche, Shadowpact, Kogan Dumb, Bonez, Jalin Roze, and Jack Harlow. So you can imagine with all of the artist that I just named, that it was going to be live right? Well it was. It was so live that they were part of the top 10 acts out of the whole freaking weekend according to Consequence of Sound. Never Nervous started his entry off about the guys with a "HOLY SHIT" so maybe that can give you an idea of what it was like. lol

I got to go to the friends and family rehearsal for the guys and what I saw was simply amazing. The rehearsal took place in what seemed like the depths of hell since it was soooo hot, which was a good thing since the same heat was what the fellas had at show time. This was the first time Ive seen a few people like Jack Harlow and Jalin Roze perform and based off what I saw with the live band, I can totally understand why they received such high praise.

Now me as the wife of a musician, of course I will always be biased and brag on my 2llz, but this event made be excited for everyone. Forecastle is such a big music festival, to have an arsenal of artist representing the Ville the way they did was ginormous. Mr. Goodbar from Skyscraper Stereo described his experience using the word Unity. I couldnt have agreed more. This city is so big and so full of talented people, it seems that here lately it has had a us vs them mentality when really it doesnt take all of that. For Dr. Dundiff to bring 10+ acts together on one stage to show out for thousands of people was really great. Mad props to Dundiff for campaigning as hard as he did to get his spot on the Ocean Stage and hats off to all the guys that got up there, had a blast and did their thing. This is what it is all about.
Just as a little glimpse of what he's been doing since November:

He has helped run a coat drive with the lovely ladies at Girls 2 Goddesses

He has had me and my wonderful friend at a show where there was absolutely NO HEAT what so ever, freezing our behinds off.

Rolling up and down the highway recording with none other that Royce The Poet on the boards in a top of the line studio

So back to the working hard aspect... do yall get the point yet? Rest is for the weary, and sleep is the cousin of death. Staying in constant motion is what he does and hes been doing a damn good job of it too.

On top of doing regular shows, hes been in the Pegasus parade we had here for derby with the ArtxFM crew, he and Girls 2 Goddesses have hosted a food drive, he has helped with the carwash for the Juneteenth Festival here in Louisville, not to mention performing at Juneteenth in Wisconsin this past weekend (Im editing those pictures now, new post will be made regarding that)

Did you know that 2llz and DJ Divine Struggle now have their own radio show on ArtxFm? Yeah boii! *Pops voice* Yeah they are I and Eye Radio. Currently, the facebook page is under construction, but you can definitely follow them on twitter. I will keep you updated on when the facebook page will be up and running. When are they on you ask? Every Tuesday night from 10p to midnight. How can I listen to the show? Great question. You can do one of two things, either log on to ArtxFm.com or download the app. Either way, you are in for a treat. One hour of funk, the second hour hip-hop, like real hip-hop. If youre my facebook friend, then be warned, I just might post on your page that night a friendly reminder. ;)

First and foremost, forgive me. A wife has been plenty busy here lately. But in my defense, I have written a few blogs, but I get writers block and never finish it. So to finish what I've started, let's play catch up shall we.

The first draft of mine was actually live from Nashville. What's in Nashville you say? A bomb ass recording studio. Like top flight, first class, big shit, bomb.com (yes I said bomb.com)
One of our guys from Lexington who is now from Nashville hooked it up. The weekend kicked off with a coat drive/benefit concert that 2llz and Girls 2 Goddesses put together. They had the o-so-love-leigh Ms. Tia Coatly host the event. When I'm telling you, we got a lot of coats, I'm telling you we were blessed.
So after the show, 2llz, myself and the homie Wip hit the road. I was sleep the whole ride Lol. We got there, got rested and went to waffle house. That waffle House experience alone was comical. The waiter was something else, it was about to go down over some mixed berry jam, some mutilated waffles.. Oh man. Still makes me chuckle to this day. So from there of course it was studio time. Like I mentioned before the place was plush. Like it was everything and anything you can imagine when thinking of big time music studios. When 2llz walked in, it was like a kid in a candy store. I watched a love manifest itself that day. It was like the look of "this is why I do this" was all over his face. He is officially more spoiled than usual. And he deserves to be, he works hard both off and on the mic.

Another example as to how hard my baby works would be the new title he has acquired. He is officially a co-host on The Tia Maria show on artxfm.com you can hear the show every Monday from 10-11est. Here soon, you will also be able to hear them on 97.1 here in Louisville. Aint that awesome? You can't tell me that Rmllw2llz ain't out her doing the damn thing! Make sure you congratulate him either on his fb page, or twitter but either way show him some love.

I really give Mr. 2llz his props, hes one working and hustlin mo fo. Most people I know are good for two shows, and yes we have done that as well, but this last Friday was one for the books.

My issue with Friday was my feet. I call myself trying to be cute and ready for good news at work and also ready for the night since we were going to be in motion all night.. Me being ready also included wearing wedges.. why I thought that I would make 8 hours at work with an additional 5 hours minimum on my feet in wedges was a good idea is beyond me. smh Needless to say I was cute and made it through one show with the wedges. lol

Show One: Brick Alley Frankfort.

Frankfort has become one of my favorite venues to play at. Its a short ride down the highway and we always get mad love when we're there. We were a lil tardy for the party, and had some minor technical difficulties, but it was still a good show. I like to sit back and people watch while Mr. 2llz does his thang on the mic. People will shake their heads and whisper when they see some cat they don't know getting on stage and drilling rmllmzk.com at them 5 times before the first song. When the beat drops and they listen to the lyrics, the find themselves gravitating towards the stage. lol I love it. I wish we could have stayed longer at the Brick Alley, we missed some good acts that night. But it was on to the next one..

Show Two: Cahoots-Louisville

Since we were a stressed for time, we dropped 2llz off at the venue while I went and got my car so my brother in law could keep it moving. By the time I got to Cahoots, we had already missed our scheduled performance time, so we hung around a bit thinking we could get in where we fit in.. Well as you know, the show must move on, and they did. Which is fine, that's the name of the game. There were no hard feelings, but definitely some empty stomachs, so we dipped out and got us some food before rolling on.

Show Three: Mag Bar

The main event. Mr. 2llz has been trying to get into this venue for a while now and he has finally done it. Ive never been into this venue before. Thank goodness I saw Nacirema at the door so he could show me where to bring some of the equipment. (Yes I am also part of the crew as well, just add it to my title list) Oh and in case you were wondering, I did an outfit change before heading to Cahoots, there was no way the wedges were going to clock anymore than 10 hours in a day..
but back to mag bar...... So when we get there, I see Touch AC who tells me that they just got off the stage. which of course is the other reason why I am still out running the streets acting like I don't need my sleep, and wont be up in a few hours with my son. Touch AC and Nacirema are Skull Avalanche, one of my favorite groups in Louisville and it always seems they have shows the same night 2llz does. Needless to say, 2llz rocked the show like always, and because that was the main event, I can officially say we had #1Night3Shows.
Oh the life of a Wife of a Musician. Needless to say, this wife needs just a little more sleep. lol Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01510777944418489859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339602908384027630.post-3262009819974350392014-03-13T15:44:00.000-07:002014-03-13T15:44:08.187-07:00#AboutThatLife Tour

Did you come to the show? Did you speak when you paid your cover? I was there, and I was the one to take your monies. If you came out, we appreciate it. Your support was and always will be appreciated.

So me being the Mrs2LLz, I didn't get to enjoy much of the show like I usually do. I got the privilege of being the enforcer at the door. "There is a $5 cover for tonight's hip-hop show." Thankfully, I wasn't left up there alone, I had a impromptu back up that night, my cousin was there to give me potty breaks.

We had to change the line up that night due to Gramz not being able to make it. So Father Jah was added to the line up that night, making it two of Louisville's finest and two of "trillwaukees" finest, not to mention DJ Divine Struggle.
First up on the mic was Cavi Barksdale . He was pretty nice. From what I could see at the door, the crowd was bopping to him. Next up we had Father Jah. From my understanding, Father Jah has been on the Louisville scene for a while, which would explain why the crowd seemed to be a little more hype when he was performing. That was my first experience seeing him, and I didn't get to see too much which was kind of disappointing, but that's the joys of having to work the event. lol Next to the stage was Mr RmllW2LLZ himself. And as always, you know he showed up and showed out. To close out the night, we had BLAX. Now BLAX had the most energy that night at the show. Don't get me wrong, everyone brought some energy to the stage, but he was on tables, benches, took his shirt off, and all over the floor. He made his presence known.

Over all the night went well, there was a good crowd and an awesome show. You already know if you weren't there, you missed out. Make sure to check out RMLLMZK for upcoming shows. I know there is something pending for the end of the month, and multiple shows for April. So don't miss out on another show!! Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01510777944418489859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339602908384027630.post-1297773022669960922014-03-04T18:37:00.000-08:002014-03-05T03:44:49.957-08:00Watching it live and directSo I don't know if 2llz understands the greatness and the growth of rmllmzk here lately. I've been on this music path with him for a few years now. I've been here when he was part of a group, under different names, chopping and screwing his own freestyle, all that.. Lol it's been a journey to say the least, and now it's becoming more and more of a reality. He's having more shows, traveling more, just in constant motion. Like for instance, Friday we went to the 502 Crew- SoulPuff open Mic. That was fun. This was the first full one I've been to, and I had a ball. Right now, he's at The Hard Rock Cafe open Mic doing a few songs.
In April he's booked for two weekends between here and Frankfort. Alabama in May, the Juneteenth celebration in Wisconsin, the Louisiana Texas fest in July, not to mention the local shows. Like how dope is that. He's getting to do what he loves and travel while doing it. I just feel like he's getting what he deserves. He's been working so hard and has grown so much since I've known him, he really and truly deserves all of the success in the world. If your reading this, THANK YOU! Your support means more than you know, you continue to help make RMLLW2LLZ a success. I thank you as the wife of a musician, for helping make my husband's love for music prosperous. Check out the site for specifics on dates and times, and share it with world.
Yes i know, i have been M.I.A. for a while. Have no fear, I am still The Wife of a Musician. I've been on a 5 month hiatus, however Mr. RMLLW2LLZ has not. The last post I made, we went to Lexington to do some recording there. That was a fun day trip. From there its seemed like it was non stop for a minute. (Which is a good thing!)

September started off the two month long stretch of a weekly gig at a local haunted house. The haunted house had a dance company that would perform thriller for the people waiting in line, this year they got an added bonus of RMLLW2LLZ. I think this was a great 'sneak peak' into what it would be like when the month long tours start for 2llz. Only when hes touring, he wont be working his 9-5 like he did during this time. It was an experience to say the least.

What seemed to be fun in the beginning, definitely turned out to be an introduction to the true meaning of "The Show Must Go On." We were out there every weekend, the weather didn't even matter. There were a few times that it seemed we were in a non stop storm, risking our lives trying to stay dry under the umbrella. During those storms, all i saw was the cartoons when they would get electrocuted and you would see their skeletons. lol The "stage" area would be flooded, there were zombies trying to save speakers and get them under the tent. It was something interesting. More like tiring. It was a great experience though. Something that me, the wife of a musician, would not want to do every weekend for two months straight again.

November was a pretty smooth month. We went and spent the day in the Franfort/Lexington area one weekend. A day of recording with Chad from Subversive Sound Syndicate, then a release party that night. The Remedial Procedures release party was live that night. You can find music by Knowledge here. That was a great introduction to Lexington, I'm sure we'll be touching down again soon. December was mainly about family and enjoying that holiday time. Now that the holidays are over and we are a full month into the new year, we are back to grinding and forward progress.

January usually is a time for making changes to ourselves or our surroundings. Part of our surroundings included RMLLMZK.COM. If you haven't been to the new site, you really need to check it out. The old one was nice, but this one is better. By far. Big ups to JK Designs for always keeping RMLLMZK.COM looking top notch. Make sure you sign up on the site, this allows you to get the new music, free downloads, and see where the next show is. Speaking of next show.. we got one coming up March 8th..

Well this is all i have for right now, I promise to be better this year with telling my story. From what I've seen on the calendar thus far, I will have a lot more to share.. As always we appreciate you support at RMLLMZK, please visit the site, leave a message. Help support underground artist.

So my last post was made while we were on our way to Lexington so 2LLz could do some colab work with some home grown artist we met in Frankfort. That turned out to be a very productive day. I did what I do best, chilled out in this awesome ass bed chair all day and watched movies while work was bein put in. I was kinda disappointed because a friend of mine had to work all day so I was solo. But I made the best of it. I think they got a total of 3 or 4 songs done that day. Which is good for you because you're not only getting new music from Rmllw2llz, but you're also bring exposed to some of the talent that Lexington has to offer. Pictured below is Royce the Poet Crutch and Rmllw2llz

Now i don't know if you follow Rmllw2llz or not on facebook or twitter, but it was posted the he was the feature artist on rapcine.com with jealous of my tape. check out the site, if you haven't downloaded it yet, you are missin out. Jealous of my Tape download

Prior to jealous of my tape coming out, Rmll and were talking, and he was saying that he thinks this mixtape is going to do something big for him. Well, guess what? The energy you put out is what is going to come back to you, its called the law of attraction. With that good energy being out out there, Rmll is now booked for half of Sept and all of Oct to perform at baxter ave morgue. If you're not familiar with Baxter ave morgue, its one of the better haunted houses that Louisville has to offer. Every year they have dancers that break out in to the full length thriller video, and this year Rmllw2llz has been asked to perform in between dances. How dope is that? He made some good impressions on some folks at the jealous of my tape release, and now things are workin In his favor. this just goes to show, If you're moving forward, you're making progress. Big ups Rmllw2llz, keep moving forward son, we got your back! Stay tuned, sign up for the email list if you haven't already, check out the site rmllmzk.com

Were headed Lexington for the day so Rmll can do some recording with some cats we met at the show in Frankfort a few months ago. I love the fact that the music is opening doors to new areas and cities. We've never been to Lexington before so this will be a first for the both of us. Traveling grace while were on the road. To be continued..

How many
Page views were there today? How did they find the site? Etc. Now I kinda find myself doing the same thing since my last post. After my Two in one year post, I had double the views to my blog. I thought that was dope. I know when I shared my post on facebook, Rmll reposted it and between the two there were two likes total, so I wasn't expecting much as far as views goes. I guess more people are tuning in to my point of view since they're digging the artist. So to whom ever is reading my blog, I appreciate you for stopping by, feel free to leave a comment or even share this. Don't forget to drop by the site: rmllmzk.com Sign up for the email list, download some music or get some merchandise. Your support on the blog, and the music is appreciated more than you know.

For me, proud doesnt even describe how i feel about Mr. Rmllw2llz. Jealous of my tape is the second Ep release that he has done this year. Ive been with this man for 8 years, and ever since ive known him he has been doing music. Its amazing to see the progress and development that he has done since being with him. When i first met Rmll, him and his friend were freestyling in front of my younger cousins choppin and screwin themselves. (If you dont know what chop and screw is, google it) Now were traveling to different cities going to shows, hosting events, and throwing release parties. Hell he even has merchandise.

The Jealous of my Tape release party was something I will never forget. The venue was great, especially since it was changed last minute, the line up was bad ass, and the crowd was awesome.

Going to the shows for me is more than just being the performers hot wife. I am also here to assist in any way i can, therefore i get the merchandise table. Jealous of my Tape. I must say, this album goes so hard its rediculous. Like omg!! Dr. Dundiff killed this album, from the production, to the mastering, to Dj'ing his ass off during the show.
